Even when you try to run it directly from Microsoft Via Parallels it won't download. It will not run on M1 chips (M1, M1Pro, M1Max) whether you do it through a VM or any of the porting applications the internet has to offer today.

Thinking that this was a permissions issue, I moved all the installer files off the disk and tried to run it off a folder on my local machine with full permissions but was still getting the same error.

With CrossOver, I was able to select the install file, but upon the first window of the installer, when hitting "Next", I was greeted with an error that read "Access Violation At Address.". It would just hangup and freeze and it never went anywhere I was unable to even get this to make me a wrapper. Wineskin With Staging (WS10WineStaging64Bit6.0)

Upon further exploration, I see that all the game files were successfully installed in the C:// directory of my Wineskin, but I was unable to launch it probably again due to the lack of Necessary Drivers and EnginesĤ. Tried using DXVK in the custom commands but still was given nothing. Wineskin without Staging (WS11WineCX64Bit21.1.0)Īgain I was able to run the installer all the way through, but upon launch I was given nothing again. Therefor, I'm thinking these bigger XBOX App Games are looking for the necessary drivers, not finding them, and then holding at a blank window.ģ. Then I tried installing Microsoft Solitaire from the XBOX App, which seemed to open and launch. I was given the Forza Splash screen – which I'm not even sure comes from the game, but rather a standard Windows display before the game launches. I was curious, and decided to install another game (FORZA), and while I was able to install from the XBOX App, I was still unable to launch it. Some digging shows that this is a selective problem with some games on Windows 11 ARM with no fix yet as of this writing.

Thinking it could be an issue with my installer, I subscribed to XBOX Gamepass and tried to install MSFS2020 – I was never able to even download and always greeted with an error. The furthest I got was a successful install but upon launching the game I was greeted with the Windows Security Prompt and then nothing. I even tried the various recommended settings tweaks for the VM (switching from productivity to game mode, giving it more CPU and Memory, Installing DirectX11 and Graphics from windows itself) and I still got nothing. There was no error presented, no startup screen, nothing. While the installed completed with no hesitation, I was unable to get the game to run. Initially I downloaded the Raw MSFS2020 Installer and tried to install it via Parallels Running Windows 11 ARM. I'll outline my results below, but to save you the read – No successġ. I've tried several methods with no success. I am running an M1Max on the latest version of macOS Monterey.
